Psychiatric Technician Instructor - RN/ PT

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, a private vocational college specializing in healthcare training and education is currently looking for an Associate Program Director/ Instructor for our new Psychiatric Technician program in Concord, CA campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-           To teach psychiatric teachnician classes
-           To organize and manage daily operations of the Psychiatric Technician program
-           To organize and manage clinical and didactic correlations of the Psychiatric Technician program
-           To organize and manage the clinical rotations of the students
-           To perform regular site visits to the clinical facilities
-           To establish and maintain relationships with new clinical affiliations
-           To be actively involved in program’s organization, management and development
-           To assist program director in modifying and maintaining psychiatric technician syllabus & curriculums updates
-           To perform evaluations of clinical sites, instructors and courses on regular bases
-           To teach didactic portion of the program according to the content of the syllabus
-           To ensure that the instruction of the class is performed in a timely fashion
-           To evaluate the students with the tests based on the proposed schedule in the syllabus
-           To organize and participate in bi-weekly meetings with the faculty members and program staff to discuss current program’s issues, complaints and standards
-           To review course materials and teaching aides and to create new teaching tools
 

REQUIREMENTS:

1.         Licensed Psychiatric Technician / Registered Nurse
2.         Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school; and
3.         Have a minimum of 3 years experience as a registered nurse/ or a licensed psychiatric technician; one year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state accredited or approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or have a minimum of three years experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five years.
