Placement & Career Services Coordinator
Job Duties & Responsibilities
General
The Placement Coordinator will be responsible for providing job search assistance. The Placement Coordinator will be responsible for managing Placement and Career Services at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts at all the campuses (San Mateo, Concord, Modesto and Fresno). Traveling to all 4 campuses is required.
The Placement Coordinator will be responsible for communication and problem solving to maintain positive working relationships with a variety of contacts inside and outside the Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts.
The Placement Coordinator will arrange assistance with placements in a variety of settings (e.g. hospitals, non-profit agencies, community health settings, schools, day cares, long term care facilities, seniors' lodges, home care, corporations), across a variety of Gurnick Academy’s’ programs (Vocational Nursing, Ultrasound Technology, Radiologic Technology, MRI Technology and Psychiatric Technician).
In order to organize the work more efficiently Placement Coordinator may differentiate present programs that are offered at Gurnick into two categories.
- Diagnostic Imaging - (include MRI, Radiologic Technology and Ultrasound Technology)
- Nursing – (include Psychiatric Technician and Vocational Nursing)
This would allow the Placement Coordinator to work in “like” fields and avoid potential mix up.
By splitting up the categories the prospective employers and Job Fairs would be more focused and effective.
The idea of a concentrated and focused group of employers would create a specialized approach rather than making it into a general healthcare function. Each group would have a concentrated audience.
